There are numerous varieties of candle on the market. At FAB Detox Biosun Hopi Earcandles are used as they are medical products class IIa according to medical device directive 93/42 EEC. Biosun Hopi Earcandles are named after the Native American Hopi, 'Peaceful ones', Indians well known for their knowledge of healing. Increasingly Ear Candling is being used as an alternative to syringing. Technique The Earcandles work on the same principle as a chimney: they produce a light suction effect. The movement of the flame creates a vibration of air inside the Earcandle which produces the effect of massage on the eardrum. Following treatment a rest period is recommended in order to maximise the results. At FAB Detox during this time Earcandling is followed by a massage of the ears, neck, face and head. Benefits Massage encourages lymphatic drainage.
